| Summary: I went in a while ago for a free recall. They were just supposed to fix something quickly and then I’d be on my way. However they ran a diagnostic and then ended up giving me a $4000 plus bill. I was shocked and confused, especially because I don’t know a lot about cars. I let them do $800 of work and then brought the rest to my family member who is a mechanic. The main issue that was wrong with my car was that there was a leak in the muffler. Lia Toyota billed me over $3000 to fix that. My family member said they could fix it with $300 to $400. I understand that some profit needs to be made, but I guess my question is, why that much profit? If I did not have this family member to help me, I don’t know what I would have done. |
