So, when it came time for my Aunt to buy a new vehicle, this is exactly where we went to! The service department is exceptional, they do their very best to assist in every way possible and accommodate your needs. Not only are the sales persons, courteous, and professional, they are not pushy or rude in attempt to make a sale. They work with you in all areas to make every experience from purchasing, financing, and servicing a very exceptional experience. Thank you, Volkswagen of Tallahassee! |

Title: I am giving two stars because I love Vo Posted On: 1/13/26 Review For: Rating:
|
| Summary: I am giving two stars because I love Volkswagen and I am hopeful this was just one bad egg in a dozen, but I am extremely disappointed. I have owned Volkswagens and other German cars my whole life and understand they can be pricier and more annoying to maintain. I am also knowledgeable about cars, but even if I werent, it does not sit well with me that I feel frauded by a mechanic, and at an official dealership to boot.
I had an oil leak in my 2015 TDI Golf, and since I am new to the area, I brought it to the dealership for service. I knew I would pay a little extra, but I was happy to do so for legitimately good service, or so I thought. It took a month to get an appointment, and when I was finally there, I felt rushed and not listened to. The issue was diagnosed pretty quickly and was what I expected.
A month or two later, I could still smell an oil leak, and an independent shop noticed it as well when they changed my oil. I wanted to bring it back to VW in case there had been a mistake, since I would have the 12,000-mile warranty. VW told me it was something else, and having already spent nearly $2,000 there on an oil leak that was not fixed, along with some brake work, I decided to decline.
Barely a year later, I found a shop I trust, Volkswagens are their bread and butter, and I went in for an oil change. I mentioned that I was low on oil and suspected a leak. They are thorough and always review my service records if I raise a concern. They went through the engine to locate the leak and, lo and behold, it was the same exact gasket and O-ring VW claimed to have replaced. The independent mechanic unfortunately reported to me that while the work had been done a year earlier and I was past the 12,000-mile VW service warranty, he was fairly certain the O-ring had never been replaced at all, based on how bad it looked. A game of he said, she said is one I never like to play, but I do trust this independent Volkswagen mechanic, and I also saw it with my own eyes. Also, this is not someone trying to keep customers, there are services (such as DPF work) that they recommend I go to VW for.
Now, mistakes happen. Maybe VW did my brake work and forgot about the oil leak, or something along those lines. But I was extremely disappointed, especially given that I had a bad experience from the start. I also paid $700 in labor, when the parts were about $20, for work that either did not happen or was done poorly. You can tell when you are not being properly looked over, and while I understand VW was very understaffed, it does not change the outcome.
People have busy lives and want to trust that the service they are paying for is good service. Unfortunately, I cannot necessarily say that about my few experiences with Capital Volkswagen Service. |

Title: MY VW Team! Posted On: 1/9/26 Review For: Dustin Wheeler Rating:
|
| Summary: Dustin Wheeler is always very courteous and knowledgeable about what services are necessary and the time it may take to get things done. I have been here several time within the last month for differing reasons, inspection for warranty, recall and alignment, and I have never received such exceptional service from any either Tallahassee Ford (Mustang) or Tallahassee Dodge (Ram); this team goes above and beyond unlike all others! Thank you Dustin and Michael Schilling, you are both very valuable to any team. |
