Summary:
I am a 43 year old black male and United States Marine Corps Veteran. I've owned 10 vehicles and 5 motorcycles in my lifetime but buying a Porsche from Porsche Riverside has been the absolute worst car buying experience I've ever had. I made an online appt to test drive a 2010 Porsche Panamera Turbo. At the dealership, I was greeted by Carlos Escobedo who went on the test drive with me and would later help facilitate the purchase of the vehicle. This should have been a straightforward transaction as one of the benefits of purchasing a vehicle through true car is non-haggle pricing and I showed up with a blank bank check; however, it would take 3 or 4 attempts of Carlos trying to up sell me Lojack (which he claims is already pre-installed on ALL of their vehicles) before we could begin to make any real progress with my finance paperwork. After finally getting through all of the "dog and pony" back and forth between Carlos and the finance guy, I was finally ready to move forward and finalize my paperwork. I was escorted upstairs where they attempt to sell you more shit you don't need in an attempt to make money, and it was at this time I learned that they added some $230 Porsche Key to my contract that I never asked for. They simply added it into the purchase price of the vehicle to make money. Unbeknownst to me, my experience would worsen soon after driving the car off the lot. The vehicle was purchased on Dec 29th. I drove the vehicle home and took my girlfriend for a spin around the block then parked it in my garage. The next time I took the car out was Sat Jan 7th when I get a message displaying a System Chassis Failure as soon a I started the vehicle. I immediately call the dealership and inform them of the problem and I'm told to bring the vehicle in but a mechanic wouldn't be available to look at it until Mon Jan 9th. I agree and upon arrival at the dealership I'm unfortunately given Will Barbaro as a service advisor who advises me that a diagnostic would be $269 but if the issue stemmed from something they missed during their reconditioning process that they would basically take care of it. He added that he would give me a call on Wed Jan 11th with an update on the findings. Wednesday arrives and Will calls me at work stating that the issue they found is the air compressor and then proceeds to quote me over $2900 for parts and labor, I'm appalled! Let me get this straight, I've owned the vehicle for a week that has been mostly parked in my garage and driven twice with less than 50 miles but I'm expected to pay for a repair that existed prior to purchasing the vehicle? This is when the real nightmare with this dealership began! Will Barbaro, nor the sales manager Jeff Hudson, nor the sales associate Carlos Escobedo offered any real help in resolving the issue or at least offering some sort of concession on my end since I literally just purchased a vehicle from them that had a failure within one week of owning. After several failed attempts at some resolve with the staff at Porsche Riverside, I finally decide to escalate the issue and forward the information to the Corporate office. I receive a phone call about 2 or 3 days later from a specialist who informs me that there really isn't anything they could do from a Corporate standpoint given the age of the vehicle and no existing warranty, however, he'd also mentioned that he's surprised they didn't do more in the situation to help me out. At the very least, I thought they would call the dealership and facilitate some sort of agreement but that didn't happen. Dissapointed, I head back to the dealership on Jan 16th to pick up my vehicle and decide to take it elsewhere for service. Long story short, I find another Porsche mechanic same day who resolves the issue in one business day and for less money than I paid Porsche Riverside for their bullshit diagnostic! The issue was not the air compressor at all but was simply low on air after conducting a nitrogen flow test. Once the system was "properly" filled, my issues were resolved. Porsche Riverside basically tried to steal nearly 3k dollars for a repair that I didn't need and held my vehicle for 9 days but did absolutely nothing. In the end, the staff at Porsche Riverside had every opportunity to make this right, they simply didn't care enough to do so. I'm not sure how this dealership has earned the positive reviews that is has but I guess that just goes to show how some customers are treated better than others. I urge you to take the time to read through their bad reviews prior to doing business with this dealership! They have zero integrity or accountability and their maintenance is subpar, to say the least. This has been by far the worst dealership and worst car buying experience I've ever had in my entire life and I would never do business with these crooks again!

This was, without a doubt, the best experience at buying a car in my entire 74 years of life. John Beech, my salesperson, made the process easy, fast and enjoyable. If any of my friends are looking to purchase a Porsche I will not hesitate to recommend John Beech at Riverside Porsche. Both John and the dealership made my trade in and purchase easy. Thanks, Richard Rogge
