| Summary: I reported a missing personal item immediately to my service advisor, Lori, after picking up my vehicle from service. Rather than documenting the concern or escalating it to management, I was repeatedly dismissed and told there was nothing that could be done and to go look around my house.
When I eventually spoke with the service manager, Gary, the concern was minimized and I was told that no one had seen the item and that it was unlikely anyone would take it. I asked whether camera footage could be reviewed and was informed that there were no cameras available.
This experience followed an already frustrating service visit. I was initially told my diagnosis would take 24 days, but it ultimately took over a week while I continued paying for a rental vehicle. When I finally received the diagnosis, it was not a written report or documented findings only a text message stating that I would need a $6,000 transmission replacement.
When I asked for the actual diagnostic report or testing results, I was told none were available and that it would take additional time to provide them. I was left unclear how such a conclusion was reached without documented results. I also asked about alternative options, including a used transmission, and was quoted approximately $16,000 due to more labor, which did not align with the vehicle or situation.
This is a 2020 Hyundai Elantra that recently had both the engine and battery replaced. I have been a loyal Hyundai customer for over 10 years, which made this experience especially disappointing.
Additionally, when my vehicle was returned, an interior panel beneath the dashboard had been removed and left detached, exposing internal wiring components. I have photos documenting this condition. This further contributed to my concern about how my vehicle was handled during service.
Between the lack of documentation, shifting timelines, and dismissive handling of legitimate concerns, the professionalism and transparency were lacking. Im sharing this so others are aware and can make informed decisions when choosing where to purchase and service their vehicle. |
