To start off, I am was really looking forward to getting another vehicle with Walter's Mercedes Benz of Riverside. I have been a loyal customer for 6+ years and this was going to be my third vehicle with them if everything went smoothly. However, when I was planning to return my 2019 C300 (W205) lease today, my experience ended up being horrible. My background story for my lease is I signed a 36 month lease for 36,000 miles which I ended up only driving the vehicle for 20,000 miles due to the pandemic. I took the car in 7/8/2022 at 11:15am and when I arrived, I meet Elizabeth Flores which was assigned to help me. It started off normal and was given multiple options to end my lease as I was expecting. I told them that I was interested in a new 2022 C300 (W206) sedan. Then I was told to give them my keys for them to inspect my car which I politely did. She was gone for a while so, I ended up going to the bathroom then going out side to my car thinking she was still inspecting it. However to my surprise, no one was actually looking or inspecting my vehicle when I walked outside. After another 15 minutes or so, she came back and informed me that after her inspection everything was good except all four of my tires need to be replaced. Generally, that would be expected if that was my original set of tires that I have on the vehicle since the beginning of my lease. However, what they did not know was I actually had a flat tire on one of the tires a few months prior and had my vehicle towed to Mercedes Benz in West Covina since it was the closest dealership to me when I had the flat tire. There I was recommended to replace all four tires which I did. I ending up purchasing 4 brand new tires directly from a Mercedes Benz dealership in West Covina and had them install, balance and align my vehicle. Those brand new tires even have a 1 year warranty on them which I have all the paper work for. So I thought it was a bit suspicious that if they inspected my vehicle like they said they did, how could they not recognize that those are fairly new tires. With that in mind I kindly asked if Elizabeth could help me reinspect my vehicle in which she hesitatingly informed me she will tell a manager to take a look again. Some more time goes by as a heavy looking gentleman walks out to my car and does a quick circle around my vehicle. Then at this point Elizabeth informs me that, "that is that, the manager has confirmed you would need to replace all 4 tires". So, I kindly explained to her about how I recently purchased 4 brand new tires and having the documentation from another Mercedes Benz dealership to prove it. I also asked if she would be so kind to walk out to the vehicle with me and use the tire tread indicator device to show my why she and her manager thinks I need to replace all 4 of my tires which I recently purchased brand new. Without a second thought she quickly informed me there is no need, she said her manager does not need such device and can just tell by looking at the tires. She also suggested I probably got used tires somewhere. At this point, I was getting pretty upset since I feel like she was not being helpful and taking advantage of my situation since my lease was coming up. So I insisted that I will go get my paperwork from my vehicle to prove to her what I was saying was indeed true. I came back with my paper work to show her but she did not even attempt to look at it, she just said the decision was final and I would be responsible for 4 brand new tires regardless. I was very disappointed in the service that Elizabeth and her manager provided. I was initially planning to stay a loyal/returning customer of Walter's Mercedes Benz of Riverside, however the experience today has made me reconsider how Walter's Mercedes Benz of Riverside treats and value their loyal returning customers. It is ashame that this occurred because 3 years ago when I got into my second lease for my C300 a brand loyalty manager named Rene Orellana provided me such a great experience, I actually recommended some friends to purchase from Walter's Mercedes and was the main reason why I decided to come back.
